The Partagas Serie D No. 5 is a Petit Robusto vitola, measuring 110mm in length with a 50 ring gauge. This cigar was originally released as part of the Edicion Limitada in 2008, due its enormous success it was then placed in regular production as part of Partagas D series in 2011.
The No. 5 starts out slowly with a subtle chocolate flavour on the cold draw, once lit it has a delicate smoke that is prominently flavoured by leather, nuts and a touch of chocolate.
In the second half the flavours and body come up significantly, the smoke output increases and additional flavours of honey and white pepper come into the mix and the nuttyness dominates.
The body hovers around a medium for the duration while the flavours increase to a medium full point, the smoking time finishes around the one hour mark.
Aging potential for this cigar is abundant, keep it in your humidor for 1-2 years for even further flavour development and complexity.
