The H. Upmann Half Corona introduced a new Vitola for the brand, with measurements of 90mm with a 44 ring gauge; this contemporary size was released in 2011.
The Half Corona’s unique appearance sets the tone for the rest of the senses, and is constructed impeccably. Scents of warm grassy aromas mixed with honey were the first to introduce this cigar, while the following flavour was unexpectedly cedar. We also found cocoa and a dashes of warm spices like cardamom and cinnamon that turned creamy as we smoked, while cedar carried everything through until the finish .
This cigar offers a compact experience with the breadth of a more traditional cigar, lasting just about 30 minutes. It is an excellent choice for a midday break or a pre dinner smoke, for all levels of smokers.

Great mild-medium bodied smoke – about 30 minutes. Nutty, creamy, a little spice on the back end of the draw, even burn, and smooth draw. Lot’s of smoke without being overpowering or overly bitter. Perfect for a morning smoke, or when you want something easy. The only reason I gave it a 4 is because some cigars, in my opinion are at the top of the ladder (Partagas Serie D and No. 4, Montecristo 2) , and this one falls just short. This is a great smoke though, and I don’t hesitate getting it again and again.

Great short “dog walking” smoke. 30 min and you’re done! Mild with nutty, biscuit notes. Satisfying but not filling. Perfect for the occasions where you don’t have the luxury of time to spend smoking something larger. I suggest grabbing at least two or three tins, then a box of 25 to refill the tins. The tins are some of the nicest on the market. They’re bridged so each cigar rests in its own little groove. Upmann stamped cedar sheet and vellum included to boot.
