The Por Larranaga Panetelas is a Veguerito viola, measuring 127mm in length with a 37 ring gauge.
These cigars are presented beautifully in a Colorado Claro wrapper, which release an interesting blend of earth, cedar and salt aromas. Uniquely, they are assembled using a blend of both long and short filler, which offers an excellent quality to price ratio, as it is still the finest tobaccos on the island, at a fraction of the price.
The Panetelas start out slowly at a mild to medium strength, the smoke is sweet with flavours of morning bread mixed with almond. The draw is surprisingly sharp on this smoke, with the third offering a mixture of floral and cashew notes with a dash of cedar and caramel that finished with a blast of pepper.
This easy smoking cigar is excellent for any time of day, we recommend trying it with a crisp lager on a sunny afternoon or a malted beverage to bring out the caramel notes. You can expect to enjoy this smoke for around 30 – 45 minutes.
This cigar would respond well to 1-2 years of aging to round out the flavours and bring a touch of sweetness forward.
