Overview: Partagas Maduro No.2

The Partagas Maduro No. 2 is a Short Pirámide vitola, carrying a 55 ring gauge. The No. 2 & No. 3 were both released in 2018 following the success of their sibling.

These cigars are named after their Maduro leaf wrapper, which are some of the most exclusive leaves, being harvested from the top of the shade grown plant. They are cured, aged and naturally fermented, creating the beautiful color and deep, rich flavour that many find to add a sweetness to the flavour profile.

The Maduro No. 2 gave us a burn that was razor sharp and the draw instantly gave us rich mouthfuls of velvety smoke. This first notes we found were a rich sweetness that mixed with a warm woodyness and touches of pepper. In the second half additional notes of cashew and berry come into the mix and finishes with distinct white pepper flavour.

While the flavours do hit a medium strength, we recommend pairing this cigar with a light, crisp beverage so that the flavours don’t find competition on the palate, sparkling water could be the winning choice. Expect a smoking time of around 90 minutes.
