Montecristo Double Edmundo

Overview: Montecristo Double Edmundo

The Montecristo Double Edmundo is a Dobles vitola, measuring in at 50 ring gauge by 155 mm in length. This cigar is generous in size but more manageable than some of its siblings, it feels excellent in the hand and is an excellent smoke right out of the box.

Wrapped in a beautiful colorado leaf, the Double Edmundo starts out with delicious aromas of hay mixed with cedar. These cigars are tripa larga, totalmente a mano – long filler, totally handmade using an exclusive blend of tobaccos from the Vuelta Abajo region of Cuba.

The flavours at the top are cedar, peanut and a touch of cherry wrapped up in a creamy smooth smoke. We found additional flavours of oak and chocolate to come through and carry us to the finish, with the overall strength landing at the medium full point.

It is important to puff slowly here, these flavours will fade if you draw on this stick too enthusiastically, so make sure you set aside the 2 hours or so that it will take you to leisurely smoke your way through this fine cigar.

Probably worst Montecristo I’ve had so far…
    Dry, woody, bad aftertaste.
    Definitely not worth the money.
    Never again.

50/50 good or bad cigar. 50 percent of the time its too tight and hard to draw resulting in burnt ash flavour. when you have one which draws well, it’s very good.

If you like Montecristo you will love the Double Edmundo. Once you have your cigar age couple of years the taste will develop where you will get more feel for the spices. In the last 12 to 24 months the quality control of this cigar has not been up to par. I also have to say it is little pricey this should be below $300 a box.
