The Montecristo A is a Gran Corona Vitola, the largest in regular production. This fine specimen is a Guinness Book of Records setter for its enormous 235mm in length, with a 47 ring gauge. This is a complex smoke fit for a seasoned smoker who can dedicate the time and patience to allow it to unfold and fully appreciate this elite smoking experience. 

These cigars are tripa larga, totalmente a mano – long filler, totally handmade using an exclusive blend of tobaccos from the Vuelta Abajo region of Cuba. 

The Montecristo A opened up with a delicious herbaceous aroma, then a blend of spice and a rich nuttyness with flavours of almond and hazelnut pushing through. As we smoked there were many additional flavours weaving in, including vanilla, cedar and dashes of coffee and with a dash of pepper at the finish. 

The smoke is silky smooth and the draw is sharp, which is particularly impressive for a stick of this size, providing further proof the Cuban rolling masters are in charge of these cigars. 

This cigar is a beast, even for the most seasoned smoker it will take some wrangling, that being said it is well worth the effort if you decide to carve out 2+ hours to take it on.
