Overview: Hoyo de Monterrey Palmas Extra

The Hoyo De Monterrey Palmas Extra is a Cremas Vitola, measuring at 140mm by a 40 ring gauge. Hoyo De Monterrey uses the finest and most sought after leaves in Cuba, grown in San Juan Y Martínez in the Vuelta Abajo zone.

The Palmas Extra is rolled in a rich Colorado leaf, cold draw brought notes of wood and a dash of spice and the pre light aromas were the same as the draw. Medium in body and strength, we found flavours of sweet cream, cedar and a touch of salt that were all rounded out with a toasted tobacco flavour. 

Not a complex cigar, but straight to the point, this cigar delivers a consistent and satisfying smoke. Palmas Extra makes a lovely companion to a cup of coffee, fitting for a smoke time of around 45 minutes. 

These cigars would make a nice introduction to the brand or to the world of Cubans for the novice smoker. The recommended aging time for these is 3 years.
