Cohiba Maduro 5 Secretos
$495.00 – $1,100.00
Overview: Cohiba Maduro 5 Secretos
The Maduro Secretos is the smallest of the Maduro range at 100 mm and a 40 ring gauge, but this one packs a punch with its full body.
Aromas of cedar and coffee bean were the first to introduce themselves, intense flavours of creamy chocolate and dark red fruits like cherry and plum delight the palate while mingling with notes of coffee, almond and a touch of spice which grounded the swirling flavours.
Cohiba introduced the Linea Maduro 5 range in 2007, unique to all 3 cigars in this range, the tobacco wrapper is the Dark Maduro leaf. This leaf grows at the very top of shade grown plants, requiring additional ageing and fermentation processes over the course of 5 years to reach the color dark enough to be classified as maduro. These leaves produce a sweeter not stronger flavour and inspired the name of this collection.
Filled with the signature tobacco blend exclusive to Cohiba, all of their vitolas are Totalmente a Mano, Tripa Larga – long filler, hand made, in the famous El Laguito factory.
This satisfying smoke lasted us just under the one hour mark and is recommended for intermediate and above smokers due to its intensity.
While the wrappers are aged for 5 years the internal fill is aged for 2-3 years, so while they are a great smoke right out of the box they would rest well in your humidor for reintroduction at a later date.

Oh my god, these are tasty! They have a nice rich, almost chocolatey flavor to them. I can’t find another way to describe them. For a smoke of this size, it packs huge flavor and volumes of smoke. They are great right now, with tons of potential upon aging. The main drawback for this stick is the price, but it still compares to Opus and other higher end domestically available cigars.

These are a great little smoke. They are full of tea, chocolate and cedar. hey draw well, and they give you 30 – 45 minutes of pleasure. I can’t wait to see how they age.

Had one last night, which was purchased right when this line hit the general market. The cocoa and coffee aromas did mellow over almost a year in the humidor. I remember not being very impressed the first time I smoke this, but the cigar has improved a great deal. The cocoa aroma is still noticeable and present. Due to the size I think using a punch is ideal. The draw was great with just a little resistance. Flavors were abundant and balanced. The cigar managed to maintain balance and complexity throughout. There is some spice along with cocoa. I still have five left, which will sit for another year. Patience will reward you with a well improved cigar

These are flavor bombs. Short half hour to 45 minutes. Great for after dinner. Sad part is I only have 7 left.

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on these and I couldn’t pass up the great January special on them. I smoked one a week after I got them and they were great right out of the box. It had hints of chocolate and a really smooth draw. I can’t even imagine how good these smokes are going to be in a year. I only can hope that I can keep my hands off of them to let them age. Highly recommended!

A luxury item. Perfect in constuction. Loaded with coffee bean and caramel, a very rich and delicious smoke.

Ligero Bomb! Just a wonderful cigar that lasts 45 minutes to an hour adding value to it. You’ll find hay, chocolate, and a very creamy character. The SBN 25 box is a plus if you value collecting Habanos memorabilia.

this cohiba leaves with an apetite for more. its spicy smoothe and earthy. the construction is tight which allows for great smoke time. its a bit shorter but keeps you comin back for more. one of all time favorites!!

Not sure why recent book reviews only brought 88 because this puppy is 98 all the way !!! Might be the best cigar ive ever smoked or should I say best Cigar’s ive ever smoked. Burned thru over 50 of these in the last three months and every one was perfect with lots of that spicy licorice flavor that is the benchmark of this cigar IMHO!! Burn can be a tad crooked at times but the flavor is just outta this world!! If you dont like this cigar give up smokeing !!! The finish is long with lots of spicy wood that lingers on and on. The secretos is the best of the maduro 5 series, the magicos is a close second. Kevin has the DARKEST secretos ive ever seen !! Thanks Kevin and thank you Cubanlous !!!

I have been smoking cigars for over 40 years. This must be one of if not best cigar I have ever smoked. Everyday I am looking forward to come home and smoke one. The problem is I will run out of it real quick and that will be sad. Robust, great draw, delicious. Strong hint of coffee and chocolate. I will strongly recommend and I hope there will be more available once I am done with box.

excellent powerful, flavor, short stick, was impressed with my first experience trying a Maduro 5. this little beast is packed full of flaovor, rich coffe, cocoa taste, burn was amazing for such a short stick, lasted me a good 1 hour, very enjoyable, downside is this little stick cost quite a bit, if it was a cheaper smoke i would chain smoke these babies on a daily basis. definitely worth a buy if you havn’t tried it.

I finally had the opportunity to try my first Secretos in the past week, and while it took a bit for the draw and the flavors to open up, it soon gave way to a steady flow of cocoa, leather, cedar and spice. Copious smoke for such a small cigar, and the construction was flawless. Just a beautiful little cigar and makes me want to try the larger formats. Well worth the money.
