Cohiba Maduro 5 Magicos is a petit robusto measuring at 115 mm and a 52 ring gauge. Filled with the signature tobacco blend exclusive to Cohiba, all of their vitolas are Totalmente a Mano, Tripa Larga – long filler, hand made, in the famous El Laguito factory.
The Linea Maduro 5 collection was introduced by Cohiba in 2007, unique to all 3 cigars in this range, the tobacco wrapper is the Dark Maduro leaf. This leaf grows at the very top of shade grown plants, requiring an additional ageing and fermentation process over the course of 5 years, resulting in a sweeter flavour and inspiring the name of this collection.
Immediate aromas of cocoa and caramel introduce themselves, preparing you for what is to come. This medium bodied cigar combines flavours of spicy pepper and touches of leather with delicious ribbons of caramel and dark chocolate and finishing with distinct espresso flavour, rounded out by the slight sweetness from their luxurious Maduro wrapper.
The smoke is creamy and subtly sweet making this a blissfully brief 60 minutes of smoking time. Make sure you allow this sophisticated stick to evolve gradually and take care to smoke it slowly.
Pair this with a malted beer or stout to compliment the warm flavour profile or balance it with a Tawny Port.
While the wrappers are aged for 5 years the internal fill is aged for 2-3 years, so while they are a great smoke right out of the box they would rest well in your humidor for reintroduction at a later date

An elegant , smooth cigar that will definitely like you. If you are a larger ring gauge fan, this is one cigar not to be missed. Warm notes of toasted sweet vanilla and dark cocoa beans are immediately apparent on the palate that enjoys an opulent and well-rounded smoke.

I bought a few singles of this cigar to compare it against the secretos and the genios. I would put beneath the other two. Overall a decent cigar but the ratio of ligero is lower than the genio and the secretos. Great afternoon cigar when you don’t need to compete with a heavy meal.

This is a short cigar with a dark maduro wrapper, noticeable oils, and prominent veins. It felt firm, had a good weight, and a perfect draw. Spice and sweet maduro in a medium bodied smoke. There were also flavors of dark earth, worn leather, and dark roasted nuts. Rich and delicious.
