Review notes: Upon opening this box, it was immediately clear that these puros were well aged. A tight top row of 13 sticks, displayed equal gage and length, with even, rosado color.
Below, the cedar divide was the real surprise. 12 deep red sticks, with a slight, talcum like bloom expected from a box with a NOV 05 stamp. Absolutely exquisite. Upon lighting...amazing. This cigar produced a powerhouse of flavors remeniscent of roasted almonds, dark coffee, and pepper mixed perfectly from the first draw. About half way through the smoke, a slight unevening of the burn began to develop, and fluctuated for the remainder, but was marginal. At no point did the cigar tunnel. The flavors became even more spicy, and intense, rather than "dessert like" at this point, as the wrapper began to engage more evenly. It was almost as if a switch was instantly turned on. This is a superior lot, from what I have learned is a rare factory for this Mareva, NRG. Highly recommend this cigar, and look forward to the next. |
