Ramon Allones Specially Selected - 25 cigars
  Ramon Allones Specially Selected - 25 cigars  [4.8 x 50]

Cigar Points Value : 185 cigar points worth $1.87

This robusto from Ramon Allones is, along with the Cohiba and the Partagas, a member of the most select trio of this format. It has neither the strength not the hardness of the Cohiba, but it does have a rare and special charm that gives it genuine personality. The Colorado wrapper has that brown tone that corresponds to the restful and generous qualities of its blend.

Review notes: received a ramon specially selected from a friend few months back, had a great experience with it, hence decided to purchase a box myself. box didn't come with the most dark , oily cigar, however, these cigars started to age very nice in the humidors after 3-4 months, couldn't resist the temptation hence lit one up. robusto ring size is perfect, not to thin, anc certain thick enough for a mouthful. thick, volumous smoke came out, medium flavored, stick started to become stronger reaching mid half, burned evenly through out. a must try and must add to your humidor, its definitly got a special charm to smoking it.

Review notes: I had put off trying the RASS robustos for far to long, stock with my Partagas Series D No.4 and was afraid to change. Well, Cuban Lou's had a combo pack that included a box of the RASS and I took the leap. Wow, I smoked one right out of the box on delivery, holy smoke what a great stick. Very grassy fragance and flavor, white pepper and during the last 3rd there were hints of dark chocolate. Great wrapper, no veins, smooth and beautiful, Draw as exceptional, burn was straight and perfect. The overall appearance and experience was a 10. Will keep some of these in my humidor from now on. Thanks Cuban Lou's for a great deal, as usual!!!

Review notes: The cigar is a very smooth flavourful cigar. For being a cigar that is so young it is surprising to see such great smoking and flavour characteristics. I think that this would definitely be a cigar to buy a few boxes of and put down for long term aging. They are a good cigar right out of the box and young, but good for aging as well. 93 out of 100.

Review notes: I\'ve been smoking Havanas since 1993. On every trip to Toronto, ONT, Canada I\'ve purchased different cigars. Trying to find a favorite cigar, this is it! I started smoking this brand and size of cigar in 2000. The quality of this cigar has remained the same over the last eleven years, just SUPERB!

Review notes: Great cigar ! On my vacation in Cuba I tried various cigars before purchasing a box or two, this one was smoked the first day and another the second day, from then on every cigar was a comparrison that never matched up. I would have even taken these over the siglo VI I had the first day, but not the siglo V. I would like to tell you I was very impressed but I guess buying 2 boxes is enough. I have had 13 in the last 3 months from the first box, and they have been spectacular, never waivering in construction, draw, or taste. I don't think any robusto has the price/cigar value of these babies. I highly recommend at least trying as the price makes it easier to afford than say a trinidad T, but with great potential for aging in my opinion. Box code is Jun 09 on first and May 09 on second. Scored 9.2 for me.

Review notes: I had heard and read many great things about this cigar, the "RASS," and I was lucky to receive one from an online friend a few months ago. Not knowing the age or box code of the cigar, I let it rest in my humidor for 5-6 weeks. Last week, while pondering ordering a few RASS, I decided to burn the coveted stick and form my own opinion. The cigar had a firm sponge feel, very resilient to the squeeze between my thumb and forefinger. The construction appeared firm and well packed. It exuded a rich, grass and wood aroma, with a somewhat sweet note. I punched the moistened cap and took a few pre-light draws, which I found to be very easy and smooth. I toasted the foot and was immediately engulfed in a very aromatic cloud of true Habano smoke. The first few puffs were light, as I wanted to ensure the burn was even. It was, and it remained very even throughout, with no corrections needed. The first 1/3 was a totally new experience for me. I detected brief hints of grass, roasted coffee and leather. I caught myself puffing at an accelerated pace as I tried to recreate the previous puff. The alternating flavors were brief and fleeting, as the cigar transitioned into a leathery spice - rarely presenting back to back flavors which had now developed into a smooth, creamy spice. The ash held firm for well over an inch, only falling when I bumped the table while trying to photograph the smoldering stogie. I let the cigar cool a bit and exhaled through the stick to purge the heat. This seemed to renew the flavors of roasted coffee and rich leather. I finished the cigar at a slower, controlled pace and enjoyed the smooth spicyness until the heat at my fingertips told me to lay it down. I'm thankful to the Brother that gifted me this RASS! Now, I am just contemplating the size of the order I want to place!

Review notes: I finally decided to purchase a box of these sticks after reading all the hype and watching some video reviews. Nice silky smooth milk chocolate brown wrapper. Cigar had the perfect draw, not too tight as some Habanos. Nice even burn, ash held on for at least an inch and a half. Starts out with typical Cuban tobacco flavors then evolves into a great coffee with cream with a slightly sweet aftertaste with some chocolate and a little nuttiness mixed in. Toward the end you get a little black pepper on the tip of the tongue. I smoked this till it was about one and a half inches left and it remained cool without any harshness and I had a hard time laying it to rest. Definitely Great!

Review notes: A chocolate brown wrapper, coarse, and a few veins running down the length. The stick felt light in the hand, but offered very little give when lightly squeezed. Pre-light draw was a little on the loose side, with flavors of natural tobacco and sweet cocoa. Post-light, I was blown away from the full strength of the cigar. Very powerful full of black pepper spice. As I continued smoking, the flavor progressed to a dark chocolate, notes of worn leather, and continued black pepper at the back of my throat. The burn was excellent throughout, this cigar produced tons of smoke, and the ash held for almost teo inches before falling. I enjoyed this cigar, it was strong and dark-tasting. Not for the first time smokers.

Review notes: This is a beautiful cigar that has so much to offer. When I think of a great robusto I can't believe how good this cigar really is. I believe with some age it will round out the rough edges and make it quite a stick. Out of the box i still prefer this cigar to the Partagas. This cigar offers cream, spice and so much nice!

Review notes: This cigar in from a box from 2005. They are smoking absolutely phenomenally, with a perfect draw and perfect razor sharp burn. The flavors are full of fresh coffee bean intonations, which turns stronger as it is smoked. Flavors of rich coffee, leather, and spice come through on the second half. Excellent robusto.

Review notes: I have smoked cigars on and off for many years and I am in no way an aficionado; however I do know what I like and I LOVE this cigar. I do not enjoy a cigar that is too bold or over-powering, the Ramon Allones Specially Selected suits my tastes perfectly. The draw on my first one was not great, but it was not bad either. My second cigar was perfect.

Review notes: This is the cigar I most look forward to! If you like a full-bodied, reasonably-priced great cigar in the robusto size, this is it! Beautiful dark-red Colorado wrapper, white ash (and it actually holds it's ash) despite a rough appearance. I would be interested to hear what others think about this stick!

Review notes: This cigar is very young IMHO. Although the stick lite and burned evenly, some smoke but again it is still young. Hints of chocolate and spice lasted throughout. The construction and appearance are outstanding as you come to appreciate when getting your hands on a Habanos. I am a big fan of the RAG which seem to age very well. I beleive the little brother RASS will age just fine. I will be patient and try again in a couple of months, I have a whole box. WOW can't wait to sample in a year or two. I am sure the flavors will begin bursting from the leaves.

Review notes: This robusto is quickly becoming one of the more popular vitolas habanos has to offer. This cigar is a powerhouse even in its youth. The size offers a near perfect draw which produces loads of rich smoke. The taste is remarkably complex for a young cigar. The flavors started slowly with a strong sense of hickory and light coca flavors left as a finish which was very light and unlike a full bodied smoke. This only lasted during the initial stage of the cigar and after the first inch, the finish was much richer and full of chocolate notes which stayed with the cigar till the end. Smoking this cigar is like making fast friends with an unexpected visitor. It proves how well the 2006 Cuban cigars are smoking and it should only improve with age.
