This Doble Corona from Ramon Allones never seeks to fight or argue with the Lusitania, Punch or Hoyo de Monterrey cigars. It has a separate public, which is absolutely faithful to it. It is a great Habano, generous, complete, deep and with an unmistakable aroma and flavor. The king of its brand and one of the 20 best Habanos of the format range.

Review notes: I love this cigar, and was looking forward to a good smoke with friends in my local cigar shop. We thought that they might be a little young to have that great complexity but thought we would try them anyway. The wrapper was light and the cigar started out smooth but not very full-bodied and we chalked it up to the youth of the cigars. Less than a third of the way through it changed, and all for the better. Flavors came in stronger and they changed as we smoked. This was the complexity we were looking for and to our surprise the cigars were full-bodied as well. We enjoyed every last draw of these beautiful cigars and can't wait to have the next one.

Review notes: I am not a huge fan of Ramons, mainly because they taste a bit "oily" to my pallet. [I don't know how else to explain it.] Also, the Ramons I've seen always have a light Connecticut wrapper, which I usually try to avoid. However, this 2x Corona was quite tasty, and I did enjoy it more than my previous Ramons purchased from other vendors. In fact, one of my cigar buddies, with whom I shared one, thought it were the best Islander he'd ever smoked. Go figure. I've always believed everyone's pallets are different, and this proved it again. As for its authenticity, I am 70% certain they were authentic, but I am not a Ramon expert by any means. Dave : )
A fantastic smoke! Date Added: Tuesday 07 July, 2009

Review notes: This was a big cigar. Well constructed, with a smooth golden brown wrapper. Pre-light draw was perfect, with taste of sweet tobacco. Post-light offered flavors of honey and cinnamon spice. Incredibly smooth with hints of coffee and cocoa. Strength was medium, with a nice long finish. The burn was okay. Never quite straight, but also not too far out of wack. The smoke increased in strength as it progressed, but continued to stay smooth with flavors of sweet tobacco and roasted nuts. This was a fantastic smoke!

Review notes: This is one beautiful Churchill that you need much time to enjoy. This cigar is one smooth cigar even when young and wish to try one with some years on it. The aroma on this one is out of this world with lots of beautiful smoke. You will get pleanty of earth and leather form this bad boy. I must try.
Great Double Corona Date Added: Thursday 12 February, 2009
Review by Jason Appearance: 9 out of 10
Box Code/Year: 2006  Construction: 9 out of 10
Average rating: 8.00 Flavor: 8 out of 10
Value: 6 out of 10
Experience: 8 out of 10
Review notes: This prominente is a classic. It has a great draw and burn, and loads the palate with that amazing Ramon Allones flavor. Tons of roasted nuts, tobacco, coffee grounds, and a smooth cuban coffee finish. It is a dark, earthy cigar that is very balanced and complex.
When aged properly Date Added: Wednesday 09 August, 2006

  Construction: 9 out of 10
Average rating: 9.60 Flavor: 10 out of 10

Review notes: This big boy is hard to beat. Wondeful flavors abound here. The RAG, along with it's smaller brother RASS (Ramon Allones 'specially selected') are epic. Ageing is what unleases the RAG's full potential.
