One of the great successes of Punch brand and one of the best Doble Coronas. In fact, it seems as if this gauge was in any brand, the one most loved by Cuban cigar makers. Strong without being aggressive, with a penetrating aroma and excellent draw and combustion.

Review by David Appearance: 10 out of 10
  Construction: 9 out of 10
Average rating: 9.40 Flavor: 10 out of 10
Value: 8 out of 10
Experience: 10 out of 10
Review notes: Authentic (enough said!). Punch is one of my favorite brands, but unfortunately, I had never smoked their 2x corona till Lou's. It was perfect and lived up to all of my expectations. However, again, these looked box pressed, which I had never seen from an Islander cigar till Lou's, but Kevin says that a shipping issue, and I believe him. Either way, the box shape did not effect the taste or the draw. Dave : )
PUNCH DOUBLE CORONAS AGE IS THE KEY Date Added: Sunday 15 February, 2009
Review by Marc Appearance: 10 out of 10
Box Code/Year: 1998  Construction: 10 out of 10
Average rating: 9.80 Flavor: 9 out of 10
Value: 10 out of 10
Experience: 10 out of 10
Review notes: I was recently fortunate to aquire a box of Punch Double Coronas with a box date of 1998. As with most cigars, particularly the larger sizes (A, Double Corona, Churchill) aging is the key to a great tasting cigar, particularly when talking Habanos. I have smoked many of the younger Punch Double Coronas but once they get past 8 to 10 years the taste improves almost expotentially. I find that the Punch Double Corona, while milder than the H. Upmann Sir Winston Churchill or the Cohiba Espendito are still full of many wonderful flavours. If you can find the older boxes, the extra price is well worth your while.

Box Code/Year: 2007 @CL's  Construction: 10 out of 10
Average rating: 10.00 Flavor: 10 out of 10
Value: 10 out of 10
Experience: 10 out of 10
Review notes: too lazy to look at the box code... another amazing box. I hate to be partial to CL's here but what an excellent box from the get-go. Flavor is present in these big guys where their smaller sizes don't measure up to these IMO- often the opposite phenomenon of the other brands quite where the smaller sizes have the flavor. These and the Churchill's by Punch serve the real flavor and fullness that I desire in the brand. I am partial to their larger sizes in other words, which I restate again and again, because they are so wonderful!!!
