Review notes: The Montecristo Petit Edmundo is 4.33 inches with a 52 ring gauge. This is a short and stout cigar -- beautiful to behold. Construction is top notch with an expertly applied triple cap. The wrapper is a beautiful chocolate brown with almost no veins. At first I was taken aback by the size of the cigar. I have never smoked a cigar this small and was a little worried I was going to be disappointed by the experience, but I am happy to say my worries were unfounded. Smelling the Edmundo before cutting the cap the scent of sweet tobacco, grass and earth hits my nose. No barnyard, not one scent other than fine aged tobacco. I am really really excited to light this baby up. I cut the cap with a guillotine cutter and give it a dry pull. Sweet tobacco again, I am getting giddy. I toast the foot with my torch lighter and then give it a couple of pulls and she is lit. The draw is easy, yes! It takes the Edmundo about half an inch to get going. The first half an inch was dried tobacco and at this point I was worried this was not going to live up to my expectations. But right at the half inch to three quarters mark the flavors changed and the sweetness of the tobacco started to show. This cigar is really really smooth as well. Not a hint of spice in the first inch and it really made for a nice enjoyable/relaxing cigar. The next transition starts at about the half way mark. With the ash holding firm at two inches the spice starts to show up. I was purposefully smoking this cigar slow to keep it cool and extend out the experience, so the spice was not heat related. And, I am happy to say, the spice added to the sweetness of the cigar and the creaminess of the smoke. It turned out to be a wonderful transition that held to the end. At about the 3 inch mark I got a lapful of ash and the cigars heat jumped significantly. I put her down for a minute to cool her off and finished her right down to the nub. In all she lasted about an hour, which I was very happy about. This was my first Cuban cigar purchase and second CC that I have smoked. I loved the Petit Edmundo and look forward to the other 8 in my box (my buddy got one too). One of my future purchases will be the larger Edmundo, so that I can enjoy this blend for another 30 minutes when the occasion presents itself. Thanks for reading and happy smoking |

Review notes: Fine smoke to add to your humidor. Had gotten some in CL's Motecristo sampler deal. They were so impressive that I ordered a box. Just a short version of the great Edmundo, but serves well when time is limited. Might just be my replacement for the Fuente Hemingway Short Story! |

Review notes: These cigars were slightly lighter in color than from a few months previous. It still had great construction however. The flavors were good, but lacked the intense depth they originally showed when they got released. Fresh cedar, cream, and cafe au lait flavors appear, with a floral nuttiness. The finish is ver short though. |

Review notes: Went looking for a smaller smoke than my usual robusto, so I checked out the CA scores to see what was recommended. This Monte scored a 94, the highest for a petit that I found. I was not disappointed when these arrived. Great construction, nice even burn, highly flavorful (not as nice as a Bolivar Royal Corona - but what is as flavorful as that one), nice for a shorter smoke when you don't have an hour and a half to enjoy a rich smoke. Definitely one for the humidor if you don't have any petit's. |

Review notes: Don't let the title mislead you to think that the flavors are bursting and bold. They are wonderfully pleasant. I have been looking to narrow down my Cuban cigar collection to two kinds. I was a bit apprehensive at first because of this unique vitola. I have been smoking for quite some time and trying to move away from robustos and other vitolas with large ring gauges. You may be wondering why. Well, I want to educate myself more on characterists and influences of wrappers and binders. I find that a cigar with much more filler makes tasting wrapper and binder more difficult. Anways, this cigar has a great draw and initial aroma of chocolate. I was taken aback by the smoothness of the smoke; and despite its length it was complex. This is a medium smoke. There was no pepper or spice. I tasted cream, hints of cocoa, cedar, and hints of earth. The finish was clean and woody. Great smoke. You can't go wrong. |

Review notes: I have bought 4 boxes of these from Kevin. These are dead-on, right off the truck. These will surely be ones you will want to buy in mass quantities (like me) from Kevin. Perfect monte flavor profile of tobacco/tea. Cheers Kev! |
