Review notes: The construction was very good with few veins and had only a slight give when pressed between my fingers. I couldn't detect any hard spots indicating a possible hard draw or plug. The head was topped with the typical 3 caps and only a slight bit of tooth.
Looking at the foot you could see different shades to the leaves used. Most being a dark golden brown, however a small section significantly different in color.
I grabbed my favorite Swiss Army and went to work. I actually got slightly off center on the punch, however close enough! I grabbed my leather coat and stepped outside with my Z-Plus Zippo and a small slither of cedar. Once the foot was nice and toasted, I put fire to it. The cedar really helps bring in the flavors when lighting.
I can say that the first draw was smooth with tasting of sweet cocoa and leather, a hint of cedar. A bit of spice, some light pepper, tickled my nose as I let the smoke roll out my nostrils. A very well balance between flavors to say the least.
The same flavors stayed basically consistent for approximately a little over half the cigar, however once a little over half-way, the spiciness all but subsided and a more pronounced earth and wood taste came through. A bit more power came through as well. Yet still a delicious cigar! |
