Review notes: I love the looks and smell of a 50 count SLB when I first open them, and this was no exception. The cigars were only 2 months old when I got them, but at the time of this review, they are 8 months old. I think a little more aging would help the flavor, but the price is definitely right. Hay/straw and cedar came through in th smell of the wrapper and the foot and the prelight draw. The smell at the foot also had a mild not of dried fruit. The ligero was a medium dark brown, and mixed throughout the blend. The taste after lighting still had the cedar notes, but I also tasted some white pepper after 1 1/2 inches and coffee after 3 1/2 inches. I was a little disappointed the fruit tastes did not make it into the flavors. That would have made this a more complex smoke. The flavor is good, but not super complex, but the price is reasonable enough to include this as a cigar to have on those days when you do not want to dig too deep into those special ones you are saving. |
