Review notes: after couple months in the humidor, these Sir Winstons are simply amazing. this is a cigar that must be truly respected for its strength and complexity. I lit up one of these beautiful stick before having dinner, and by the moment i finished the stick, i was shocked i suddenly got hit into a nicotine loop where i got really dizzy. really need to respect these Sir Winstons and recommend to smoke it only having some food in your stomach :)

Review notes: I received my box from Cuban Lous in perfect condition, these Sir Winstons came in its own nice looking wooden cabinet box, would make a very special gift. After couple months resting in the humidor, a nice shiny oily surface developed on the wrapper, I knew it was time and couldn\'t resist anymore to light one up. Man, my friend and I were not disappointed, we were rewarded with the most complex cigar we\'ve every smoked, the vast variety of flavors experienced in this cigar in beginning, mid, end sections were out of this world, great leather, earthy flavors plus many many more changes in flavor, strength was full however it was very smooth, was never harsh at all, the burn was even all the way through. It is the undisputed jewel in my humidor right now, wish it had been cheaper else i would love to smoke these babies on a daily basis. simply awesome cigar, simply perfect, a definite try!

Review notes: Excellent right out of the box, these were out of stock for a year, finally got my hands on them. these Sir Winstons came in a very nice looking wooden box, not like those regular boxes closd by a nail. aroma filled the room the moment i opend the box. lit one up right away, simply smelled awesome. stick burned very evenly throughout, the strength was not as strong as i had hoped, i had very very high expectations coming in for these. can\'t wait to let it age for a while in my humidors to see how the flavor and strength changes with time.

Review notes: I am smoking my last one now. I had a heart attack last March. I thought I would not light up again. Well I decided you only go round once. I gave most of my stock away (wish I had not). I kept a few of these back. One of the best I've ever had. The good news is I am talking newbies inot box splits. This is definately on the list.

Review notes: The Meal: Grass fed beef with Yukon gold potatoes and fresh carrots and peas. The Cigar: H. Upmann Sir Winston a gift from my wife for Christmas 2009. It took all my restraint to put tese in the humidor for 3 months and tonight, April Fools Day, 2010 I had one following the meal. It was just amazing. and the most sophisticated cigar I've ever smoked. From the beginning to end it was pure pleasure. Run, don't walk to get your box. They are pure pleasure!

Review notes: This wonderful cigar has overtones of sweet grass and a hint of vanilla. In the second half, the flavor intensifies, while not trying to compete with the strength of a Punch or Lucitania. It is a completely different experience. I smoke this when I'm in a pensive mood, with a blended scotch or Perrier. Good burn, perfect draw. Recommended.

Review notes: Top five smokes of all time. I'm glad they still make them. When Habanos stops making these you know the world is coming to an end. Score is 95 young and possible 100 if aged properly, meaning unbroken box at 10 years. The packaging makes this possible, no paper, no plywood, just a simple solid cedar, varnished box.

Review notes: This was one beautiful cigar. Rich brown wrapper, somewhat bumpy with a few veins. A classic cigar appearance. The draw was a little on the tight side, but it opened up nicely as it progressed. Overall, a very creamy smoke with a nice spice that was a touch peppery. Smoking time was about two hours.

Review notes: This car is a cigar to be reserved for a special time. This is also a smoke that can' be rushed being if you do you will miss out on so much. I have been told let it rest for yars and they will be out of this world. My question to you is how can you let such a young cigar knock your socks off with so much change as you smoke through it.

Review notes: I actually purchased these through Cuban Lou's a few months back under the Vintage Category. A good friend had picked up a box last winter on a trip to Cuba and I experienced a more mature Sir Winston Churchill for the first time. Now those of you who are true cigar afficiendos know that in the past 20 years Cuba has supposidely experienced 2 years where the tabacco crop was not quite up to snuff, 1998 and 2001. So I was a little leary about buying a box of 2001's, even though I knew they had to have improved with age over the past 7 years. This is a cigar that is definately high in amonina and should not be smoked until it has aged at least 2 years. When I got this box from Cuban Lou's it was with a bit of trepidation that I opened it and examined the cigars. The smell was nice and strong, exactly what you expect from this brand. Construction of the cigars looked good and the roll appeared to be neither too tight (like many of the Cubia Espandidos) nor too loose. I fired the cigar up and was delighted with the rich strong aroma of the smoke. Once again this is not a cigar for the beginner and demands your respect while smoking it. For a cigar this strong it did not have bitter after taste and was good right down to last 1/4 inch or so. If this is what the 2001 addition of this cigar tasted like, inferior tabacco and all, I can hardly wait to get back to Cuba this winter and try and find some Sir Winston Churchill's in the 1999, 2002 and up to 2005 or 2006 vintage. In my humble opinion, still the best Churchill to come out of Cuba for those who like there cigars strong.

Review notes: Oily, veiny, with a good shot of pepper on the lip. Firm, well-filled, yet with excellent draw, just the right resistance, absolutely perfect construction. Pre-light tastes strongly of cedar. Lighting up brings an immediate mild to medium body, then builds powerfully toward a full body conclusion. Complex flavors of cedar, cinnamon, peppers. As the pepper fades on the tongue, delicate fruit and meaty tones are revealed. Finish is long and satisfying. Very even burn, but ash drops easily if allowed to grow long; don't let the wife see you rubbing it into the carpet. This very classy cigar deserves the smoker's full attention for well over an hour.

Review notes: Received my Sir Winstons in perfect condition (as Usual).Just ready to leave for a trip to Grand Cayman to smoke Cuban's for a week straight, thats pure heaven.Put the box in the humidor to rest. Finally smoked one last night. Great Smoke. You have to set aside some time to enjoy this one. Full of glorious flavors and lots of smoke.Even burn with a firm draw. This is the epitome of a great Cuban cigar. I enjoyed this cigar with an 18yo Bourbon. It doesn't get much better. This is a jewel that most should try .As they age they will only get better. Thanks Kevin for great service as well as a great smoke!!!

Review notes: What a glorious day! Mid to upper 60’s, lots of sunshine, a nice breeze. I spent a good bit of the morning working on the back lawn spreading out some weed killer/fertilizer. Weeds popping up all over the place! Of course, the wife and the baby girl take off to the little baby shop down the street leaving me and Mandy (JRT) to some nice relaxation time. I decided this was a perfect opportunity to try that Sir Winnie! I have to say I’ve been really anticipating trying this smoke. I’ve seen and heard so much about them, so today was the day! This 7 x 47 stick was a thing of beauty; a solid stick with very nice weight in the hand. It had just a small amount of give when pressed between my fingers, just about perfect. The golden brown wrapper had a nice oily sheen and only one slight vein running down the length. I could see little tiny hairs (no not mold  ) and some crystalline if held just right in the sun. The triple cap was all but perfect, and I couldn’t wait any more so put the punch to it. Pre-light draw was spot on perfect, not too tight nor too loose. I got a slight spiciness with cedar notes as well as a wonderful taste of matured tobacco. Oh this was gooood. I toasted up the foot and put fire to it. An abundance of smoke poured from this thing. I took the first draw very carefully as I wasn’t sure what to expect. Oh yes, a little spice with notes of grass and cedar. My second draw I made a little deeper and wow, a lot more spice, as was my third draw as well. However, after that third, the spiciness subsided and the true flavors started coming through. A delicious taste of cedar and grass along with hints of cocoa. Or, was that coffee? Hmmm. Yes, fresh brewed coffee with a very rich cream. Definitely some leather in there somewhere. All the while the spice was at the perfect level. Around a third into it, I took a draw and suddenly it was a different cigar. That coffee with rich cream disappeared and the absolute delectable flavor of melba toast hit my palate. No, not Melba toast. Gingerbread! Tasting like it had just come out the oven! Wow. But wait. Maybe, more like, toasted white bread spread with butter? Oh man, this thing had me all over the place with flavor. Downright delicious! The amount of smooth and creamy smoke flowing from this cigar was a beautiful sight to see. Right at the half-way point, the delicious “baked/toasted bread” flavor subsided and the smoke took on a more herbal flavor. Maybe not herbal, fruit? Yes, fruit with honey. It was so good it tickled the back of my throat! I’d say the first half was a medium to medium-full body, however after hitting the half-way point, it took on more of a medium-full to full. I found that a full, long draw was a bit much, so started taking in smaller amounts of smoke. Perfect! My wife and baby girl pulled up, and I unfortunately had to help take some things in, so had to sit it down. I intended to go right back to it, but ended up playing with my little girl (and yes, more toys she just got! ). I did however, come back to it later in the evening after dinner. I don’t care much for lighting up a stogie once it’s gone out and sat for a while, however this one I wasn’t about to waste. It took several draws to finally get the initial bitter/powerful taste to subside, however it got back to that same fruit with honey flavor along with a chameleon of other flavors coming and going. It was like a kaleidoscope of flavors! And so, all good things must come to a nubby little end. Now I know what so many have talked about. This seemed to me to be one complex cigar but with a wonderful balance of flavor and spice. I’m sure I didn’t do justice to the many flavors that came through. If you have one of these, smoke it! If you don’t, get one. :D
