Review notes: I was expecting more from this one!
The construction is somewhat on lose side resulting in some uneven burn requiring frequent corrections. But the taste is another story - smooth medium strength with some spice - typical DIP taste, great volume with some flaky ash.
But, for $1 more you could be smoking Monti No.4! |

Review notes: This is one of my favorite anytime smoke that's not going to break the bank! This most recent box I got from Lous' was definitely young as you can see. But the handfull I pulled out to smoke are great! Creamy with plenty of smooth smoke. Even some caramel and nutty flavors, which surprised me. Now the hard part is to wait for the rest to age...... Hopefully I can find a "vintage" box, my favorite smoke with coffee in the morning. A great daily 45-1hr smoke that can be enjoyed anytime! |

Review notes: I really dig this stick. Nice floral quality to it and very good construction. Burns nice and even and is very flavorful, if one dimensional at times. I think at the price these are steal and well worth stocking. |

Review notes: These are good quick smokes. Creamy and mild. Make for a nice lunch-time, or early morning with coffee stick. I held back on some of the ratings because they were a bit on the mild side for my taste.
Cuban Lous delivers again. |

Review notes: Please note that I am using a rating scale here in which a "10" would be assigned to a super-premium absolutely incredible rare Cuban cigar. This box was a great suprise because I expected something more or less average. What I got was oily, stinky, rich, delicious, fabulous cigars. That exotic indescribable Diplomatico spice was there in spades -- something I crave, that only Dips have. Some of the cigars were a little rough and a tad underfilled and I smoked the "worst" one first and it was still fabulous. I love that Diplomatico exoticness. If you like Dips, get this box. (By the way guys please put the box codes on your reviews -- it's not that hard and helps the rest of us a lot). |

Review notes: Great cigar! Great flavor! I just don't agree with the opinion that all Diplomatico cigars are just Monty seconds. The only thing this cigar has in common with Montecristo is that it is out of the same factory.
I found the flavor to be both subtle and rich with an excellent aroma. I prefer this cigar to the same size Montecristos. Furthermore, they are no doubt a better value.
Thanks Lou for these wonderful rare baby birds! |

Review notes: I really felt wise in having obtained the box to get me through the month of say, June or July? What a refreshing form of enjoyment that will have made an impression on the lazy and relaxing Summer 2008-that eggy batter of angel-food and smooth cream tones, mild (as opposed to ostentatious or overbearing) refined pleasure with an agreeable light-feeling nourishment. Very fond memories indeed! |

Review notes: APPEARANCE: Great looking construction, minimal veins
PRE-LIGHT: Initial draw perfect, providing clean tobacco flavor.
FIRST-THIRD: A light floral aroma. Great volume of smoke, with a nice, creamy finish.
SECOND-THIRD: Continued clean tobacco flavor, with a subtle honey sweetness developing. Burn is flawless.
FINAL-THIRD: More subtle honey, with a bit of citrus building towards the end.
For a young cigar, I was impressed by the construction and flavor. No harshness at all. I would classify this as having light-medium body, without much complexity. That said, I also found it to be a wonderful change of pace cigar. Not an ideal compliment for a heavy meal, but perfect for a relaxing summer evening. The Diplo #4 has definitely found a spot in my rotation. |
