Bolivar Tubos No.1 - 25 cigars
  Bolivar Tubos No.1 - 25 cigars  [5.6 x 42]

Cigar Points Value : 219 cigar points worth $2.22

Deeply complex with much spice and earthy backtones. Heavy aroma and generally extremely good construction. Far better in cabinet selection than dress box, but do not shy away from trying the box pressed variety as it is still a very good smoke.

That was clearly a wise choice Date Added: Friday 03 September, 2010

Review notes: The first time I smoked a Bolivar was about ten years ago and I wasn't too impressed with them at that time and now I know why. I had bought a box of 25's' Royal Corona' and due to a lack of experience I smoked the whole box within a year, before letting them aged. Last week I ran thru a half box of Tubos No 1 at a downtown cigar shop and at my great surprise the manufacture date was August 2002 and I decided to buy them all for another try with the Bolivar. That was clearly a wise choice. This time with the proper ageing years the two different experiences were like day and night. Of course I can said that it tasted leather, some dark chocolate, and even earth, but the most impressive feeling was the uniqueness of a true Bolivar feeling which is FULL BODY. If I have only one thing to say to a future smoker of Bolivar cigar I will said patience and time and never rush the moment to smoke any good cigar. It is a very good cigar and I would like to give it 5 stars but then it cannot be the best cigar on earth. I recommend a minimum of three years for ageing.
Better thant the non-tube version Date Added: Wednesday 27 May, 2009

Review notes: This cigar exhibited more flavor than the non-tubed version. Tubes are great for traveling, they protect flavor, humidity, and the wrapper. These are great desination purchases, but I'll never buy a box. Although the flavor may make me reconsider.
