Review notes: I wouldn’t recommend this cigar to a beginner cigar smoker this one is defiantly for the advanced cigar smoker who appreciate this excellent cigar. Construction of the cigar looks good and well constructed could do without the gold wrappers even though it made the presentation of the cigar good. I was trying to be care full on couple of them that gave me trouble taking off didn’t want to damage the cigar. As far as strength of the cigar I thought I was buying a full bodied cigar but it turned to be for me at least a medium for the first half of the cigar turning very close to what I would call a medium-full bodied cigar. I would imagine for other cigar smokers this might be full bodied to them but not for me. As far as taste goes I would say very in line with other Bolivar cigars has that earthy flavor with chocolate, leathery, and smooth taste. As far smoke smell goes very pleasant not choking or rough as some cigars can be. I would compare to very pleasant smelling coffee or floral smell. I would definitely recommend this cigar to connoisseur and just any cigar smoker. |

Review notes: I was gifted one of these the other day and really enjoyed it. In the box the gold wrapper really make a great presentation. The ring guage of this beauty really lets the flavor shine through and is a treat. The isnt a cigar for a new smoker but for one that is seasond it cant be beat |

Review notes: FIRST 2/3 SMOOTH EARTHY PUNCH, NICE ASH, NICE EVEN BURN, INTO THE LAST THIRD,YOU DIVE INTO A HEAVIER LEAF IT'S A QUICK FLAVORFUL CHANGE WITH A HOPEFUL ENDING.
LETS TALK ABOUT THE LAST PART OF THE CIGAR NOT THE LAST THIRD, YOU KNOW THE PART WHERE YOU HOPE YOUR FINGURES BURN LIKE THE BLACK BAND OPUS
AND THE #4 DO, THIS SMOKE WAS VERY STRONG, LIP BURNING STRONG NOT A FINISH YOU WOULD EXPECT I GUESS. OVER ALL PRETTY GOOD. |

Review notes: The wrapper was toothy and golden brown. Slightly oily with a couple veins. The cigar had a good weight, slight give when squeezed, and a perfect draw with straight forward sweet tobacco.
Nice white pepper spice on the back of the throat. A good medium bodied smoke. Really delicious. With a flavor of nots, sweet cocoa, and black licorice.
An excellent, lasting finish that lingers on the palate. Thoroughly enjoyed the fantastic Bolivar profile, just spot on all the way around. |

Review notes: What a wonderful re-enactment of an old classic. These haven't been around for a long time and are just as good as they used to be in the 70s. Just a sweet full bodied cigar that is great young. Get as many as you can. |

Review notes: I might be in the minority here, but I think this cigar is just ok. It is a beautiful cigar to behold. The draw tends to be tight on these, but the burn is even. The flavor of these are strong and somewhat harsh. They do have a lot of potential I must say, but time will tell. Full of strong tobacco flavor, spice, and roasted nuts. It is toasty and full bodied. |

Review notes: I had the opprotunity to split a box of Bolivar Gold Medal cigars with another brother of the leaf. I have to say that this cigar has the most splendid surprise hidden with in. I have found that when smoking one of these treasures, and you you purge the cigar, the first few puffs afterward have a hint of honey to them. This is of course my own opinion but my fellow BOTL stated he experienced the same with his Gold Medals. |

Review notes: Prelight - As I said, the construction was perfect. My palio provided a perfect cut which resulted in a great draw. Fairly loose with just the right amount of resistance. The prelight draw gave off floral and earthy notes. Very pleasant already!
1st Third - Upon clipping, toasting and finally lighting this beautiful cigar, The medium bodied smoke gave off floral/earthy notes with a touch of an odd spice that I couldn't quite put my finger on. Hints of this strange spice and pepper would linger on the back of your palate and tongue leaving you with a very mysterious finish. I'm sure most people would just love this but I couldn't take the suspense of not knowing what it was! Once I got over the annoyance of curiosity, I sat back and started to really enjoy this phantom spice.
From the first puff, the smoke was very, very thick. I liked this considering I was in a large room with plenty of ventilation and air circulating. But I get the feeling it would be a little much if I were at the B&M or a restaurant (not that anyone at the former would really mind at all, the aroma was fantastic!)
2nd Third - Very soon after a third into the cigar, maybe even a tad earlier, the spice almost completely disappeared. The smoke then was only one word...CREAMY (but if I had to use two words, I would add the word toasty to the mix)! Almost like a very very flavorful Montecristo White label. Yes, odd comparison but shut up and listen! The flavor was somewhat consistent from the first third, smoothly resting on my palate with strong earth and floral notes. Almost like a potpourri of sweet tobacco. The smoke was very sweet and still very thick. Though the smoke was extremely thick, you would never know you had any in your mouth. At this point I knew I had a winner for sure.
The last third - Once I got to the last third of this cigar, I was sad to know it was almost over, but was cheered up at the thought that there were 9 more in the box!
At this point in the cigar, the flavor was much warmer, spice completely gone and a complexity that appeared from nowhere. The complexity of the last third of this smoke was very...different? A very woody, nutty profile took over, no flavors reminiscent of the floral tangyness of the first two thirds, and no more of that twang that makes the ISOMS famous. Just a very complex, full bodied flavor with a but of nicotine strength not found in any bit of smoke prior to this third. There was still a hint of sweetness that was on the finish, almost a coffee/cocoa finish to replace the "phantom" spice of before. The cigar finished off with a bang and definitely had me drooling for more! It makes me sad these things don't come in cabs, or even 25'ers. I definitely need to get my hands on more boxes soon. |

Review notes: Good cigar but needs some age. I have had a few and had others complain about draw issues. The taste is there and these are a great buy, just plan on letting them sit for at least a year. |

Review notes: Underneath the gold paper wrapper is a cigar of solid construction and nice easy draw.
Despite its youth, the green tea aroma of the first thrid is prominent, building up to a climax of 99% dark chocolate and double espresso, while never being harsh.
Very interesting smoke with an explosive development. |
