2008 Habanos Releases
Here are the proposed releases for 2008. I have only seen the Magnum 50 and Hoyo Epicure Especial while at the Habanos Festival in February, but the following is suppose to be released during 2008…
Regular Production
H.Upmann Magnum 50 - 50 x 160mm
Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure Especial - 50 x 141mm
Partagas Salomones - 57 x 184mm
Limited Edition Production
Partagas Serie D No.5 - 50 x 110mm
Cuaba Piramides - 52 x 156mm
Montecristo Sublimes - 54 x 164mm
Regional Edition Releases
It seems that Habanos went absolutely mad with Regional Editions this year. I believe there are almost 20 different cigars coming for regional distribution. My thought is that there was increasing demand for these releases and a short supply. Now I don’t know if Habanos will increase supply to satisfy demand or just keep the supply short and the market price high. The latter seems to be typical Habanos.
Other Releases
Habanos will continue to release the collection items and their popular travel humidor series.
New Packaging
Believe it or not, what I am most excited about it 2008 is the proposed new Tubos packaging for some of the classic Cubans. I can tell you that this is not the first time Habanos has proposed tubos editions of their cigars, but my tempered expectation is that they will reveal some new Tubos throughout this year.
And…here is a little sneak peek at the new Partagas Serie D No.4 Tubos, Partagas Serie P No.2 Tubos and the H.Upmann Magnum 46 Tubos.

These new tubos confirm the focus on marketing from Habanos S.A. Unfortunately I’ve had some bad experiences with H.Upmann tubos, I hope it’s not the same with these.
